How DTF Printing Works
DTF prints your design onto a PET film using special inks, applies a hot-melt adhesive powder, then heat-transfers the film onto the fabric. The result: full colour, tactile print with excellent wash durability.
| Factor | DTF | Silk Screen |
|---|---|---|
| Colour limit | Unlimited colours | 1–6 colours per design |
| Setup cost | No screens needed | Screens required per colour |
| Small batches | Excellent — no minimum per colour | Less cost-effective under 50 pcs |
| Detail/gradients | Excellent | Limited (halftone required) |
| Best for | Complex designs, small batches, dark fabrics | Large runs, simple logos, cost efficiency |
DTF is not sublimation. DTF works on all fabrics including cotton. Sublimation only works on 100% white polyester.
